April 1, 2026 - Convicted: Happy Long Inc., operating as Happy Long Travel, and Sara Wong
Mississauga, ONT. – After being charged by the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO), Happy Long Inc., operating as Happy Long Travel, pleaded guilty to one count of operating as a travel agent without being registered.
Sara Wong also pleaded guilty to one count of operating as a travel agent without being registered, and one count of being an Officer and Director of a corporation and failing to take reasonable care to prevent the corporation from committing an offence.
Sara Wong was fined $8,750, inclusive of a victim surcharge, and sentenced to a two-year probation. Happy Long Inc., operating as Happy Long Travel, received a suspended sentence and a two-year probation.
It was found that Happy Long Inc., operating as Happy Long Travel, and Sara Wong continued to offer travel services after their TICO registration had been terminated.
TICO prosecutes unregistered companies and individuals to maintain the integrity of Ontario’s travel marketplace, giving consumers confidence when purchasing travel from registered professionals, while ensuring a level playing field for registered businesses.
