Mississauga, ONT. – The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) has charged Temple & Temple Tours Inc. with one count of withdrawing consumer funds held in trust for purposes other than those intended.

Additionally, John Temple and David Temple were charged with one count each of being an Officer and Director of a corporation and failing to take reasonable care to prevent the corporation from committing an offence.

Temple & Temple Tours Inc. was previously a registered travel agency in Toronto, Ontario that specialized in educational tours for student group travel.

In January 2025, TICO suspended the registration of Temple & Temple Tours Inc. due to allegations that the travel agency was not financially responsible in the conduct of its business and was operating in contravention of the Travel Industry Act, 2002. TICO also issued a Notice of Proposal to revoke the registration of Temple & Temple Tours Inc. The company voluntarily terminated its registration on March 24, 2025.

Individuals convicted in Court of offences relating to the Travel Industry Act, 2002 are subject to fines of up to $50,000 and/or prison terms of up to two years. Corporations are subject to fines of up to $250,000.

TICO prosecutes companies and individuals to maintain the integrity of Ontario’s travel marketplace, giving consumers confidence when purchasing travel from registered professionals, while ensuring a level playing field for registered businesses.
