Update: The charges against Jacco Tours (Ontario) Inc. and Danny Li have been withdrawn.

Mississauga, ONT. – The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) has charged Jacco Tours (Ontario) Inc. with one count of failing to use money held in trust other than for the purpose it was received.

Additionally, Danny Li has been charged with one count of being an Officer and Director of a Corporation and failing to take reasonable care to prevent the Corporation from committing an offence.

Danny Li will appear in court on January 13, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. in Toronto, Ontario.

Jacco Tours (Ontario) Inc. was previously a TICO registered travel retailer and wholesaler based in Markham. TICO revoked Jacco Tours (Ontario) Inc.’s registration under the Ontario Travel Industry Act, 2002 on July 14, 2022.

The company primarily sold tours to China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.

Any consumers who are impacted by the closure of Jacco Tours (Ontario) Inc. may file a claim with the Ontario Travel Industry Compensation Fund. The deadline for claims is January 16, 2023. Individuals convicted in Court of offences relating to the Travel Industry Act, 2002 are subject to fines of up to $50,000 and/or prison terms of up to two years. Corporations are subject to fines of up to $250,000.
