(Mississauga, Ont.) – Following the Travel Industry Council of Ontario’s (TICO)  Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 29, the Board of Directors re-elected Scott Stewart as Vice-Chair. Robert Townshend was the successful candidate for the two-year elected position on the Board. Joanne Dhue was named to the Board by the Canadian Association of Tour Operators and will serve for a two-year term.

“TICO sends a heartfelt thank you to our outgoing directors who retired from the Board over the last year: Sherry Scott, Ian McMillan, and Richard Edwards,” said Richard Smart, TICO President and CEO. “A special thank you to Jean Hébert who served on TICO’s Board for 10 years, the last 5 as our chairperson. We thank all our directors for their commitment and dedication to advancing TICO’s consumer protection mandate. We also extend a warm welcome to our new chair Mr. Michael Levinson.”

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting was held virtually on Zoom. A recording will be made available on TICO’s website in the next few weeks.
