Mississauga, ONT. – The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) has charged Mr. Raed J. Karborani, also known as Raed Shimon-Karborani, operating as Biblical Journeys Canada, with one (1) count of operating as a travel agent without being registered.

Charges were laid on Friday, June 14, 2019.

It is alleged that Mr. Karborani operated Biblical Journeys Canada from Niagara Falls, Ontario, selling tours to Israel, Jordan, Italy and Greece.

Consumers are cautioned that purchasing travel services from an unregistered operator means consumers give up the consumer protection to which they are entitled. TICO encourages consumers to search its directory to confirm that an operator is registered, prior to booking travel.

Mr. Karborani will appear in court in Welland, Ontario on July 26, 2019.

Formed in 1997, TICO is a not-for-profit corporation wholly financed by Ontario-registered travel agents and wholesalers.  It administers the Travel Industry Act, 2002 and the Ontario Travel Industry Compensation Fund.  TICO may be contacted at (905) 624-6241 or 1-888-451-TICO.  Visit TICO’s website at www.tico.ca or email TICO at This email address is being protected from spambots.
